Leadership Built Around ASC Workflows: Welcoming Jason Buchwald to MedServe
As MedServe continues to grow, we are investing in leadership with deep experience in medication management and outpatient workflows.
We recently welcomed Jason Buchwald as President and Chief Commercial Officer. Jason brings 25+ years of experience across healthcare and medtech, with a strong background in medication management spanning infusion, dispensing, and the systems that support day to day clinical workflows. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with healthcare teams responsible for how medications are tracked, dispensed, documented, and managed throughout daily operations.
Why This Perspective Matters
That perspective matters, especially in the ASC environment.
Surgery centers move fast. Teams are balancing tight schedules, quick turnovers, and growing operational demands every day. Controlled substance management has to work consistently within that environment, and in many facilities, the process is still heavily manual.
Narcotic counts can take longer than they should. Documentation often lives across multiple systems or paper logs. Reconciliation and follow-up pull staff away from other responsibilities, and issues are sometimes not identified until an audit or survey forces teams to go back and piece information together.
Jason has spent much of his career working around these kinds of operational challenges. He understands how medication management decisions get made in outpatient settings, what clinical teams are navigating day to day, and how workflow gaps can create added stress for staff.
One thing that stood out to him when joining MedServe is how many outpatient and procedural settings are still relying on manual medication management processes. While hospitals have invested heavily in automation over the years, many surgery centers are still working through:
Extra reconciliation work
Inconsistent documentation
More time spent on narcotic counts and follow-up
Greater audit and compliance pressure
Looking Ahead
MedServe was built specifically for the ASC setting. Our product was designed around how surgery centers manage controlled substances, and that continues to shape how we build, support, and grow the company.
Jason’s role as President and Chief Commercial Officer brings additional operational perspective to that mission. His background in medication management and outpatient workflows helps keep MedServe focused on the real challenges surgery centers are facing every day, not just the technology itself.
The surgery centers working with MedServe today are spending less time on counts, creating cleaner documentation, and giving staff a more consistent process to follow.
As MedServe enters this next chapter, the focus remains the same: helping surgery centers reduce manual work, strengthen accountability, and support clinical teams with more consistent medication management processes.
